The D.R.E.A.M. Method
Five steps to live out your dreams.
There is a method to cure the madness.
Like the four phases of sleep, we’ll tackle one step at a time and go deeper into the process. There may be dips back and forth as we work to regulate your sleep patterns.
Daily Habits
Behavior plays a significant role in sleep by directly influencing how well one gets to sleep and stays asleep.
The first step is to examine our daily habits and routines. Many are overlooked as potential disruptions to sleep quality.
We will work together to improve your sleep by addressing behavior that prevents you from getting the best sleep of your life.
Resting Environment
Something as simple as your sleeping environment can have a significant impact on sleep quantity and quality. Are you setting yourself up for success?
We will take a deep dive into what might be causing wakefulness and getting in the way of slumber by addressing your sleep surroundings and figure how each of these components affects your sleep.
Emotions
Psychology plays a significant role in sleep by influencing how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors impact our sleep quality.
Factors like stress, anxiety, and depression affect our ability to fall asleep and maintain restful sleep. Poor sleep can exacerbate mental health issues, creating a
cyclical relationship between the two. Past trauma and a dysregulated nervous system can affect present-day sleep patterns.
Sleep Goddess Archetype
It happens more than you’d think: many with sleep issues don’t realize they are in constant battle with their own nature. They may want to be early birds, but they struggle to wake up early, remain alert through the day, and stay up late. It’s crucial to learn what your natural circadian rhythm is: are you an Artemis (early riser), an Aphrodite (night owl) or are you an Athena (sleep goddess warrior)? Take my Sleep Goddess Archetype quiz to find yours.
Medical Conditions
Not only can medical conditions affect your quality of sleep, but sleep disruptions can worsen the symptoms of a medical condition and decrease quality of life.
We will work together to see if there are any medical conditions that affect sleep and if you need further diagnostic evaluation. Sleep disorders, chronic medical conditions, hormone imbalances, and medications all play significant roles.

“After struggling with sleep for what felt like forever during menopause, I finally found some relief thanks to Dr. Matsumura.”
I was constantly waking up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat from hot flashes, and feeling exhausted and irritable all the time. It was impacting my work, my relationships, and my overall quality of life. Dr. Matsumura helped me develop a personalized sleep plan that addressed my specific needs and concerns. I started to notice a difference within a few weeks. The hot flashes were less intense, I was able to fall asleep more easily, and I was waking up feeling more refreshed no longer dragging by the end of the day.
